The original edition, the one that won the prize. Listening for Wellness appeared in California in 2005 and received that same year the Best Psychology Book award given by the American association of independent publishers. It is the text from which the French and Spanish editions come.
“Listening is communicating — making contact with our environment as much as with the inner universe of our thoughts and feelings.”
— Pierre Sollier
About the book
Pierre Sollier, a Frenchman settled in California, came upon the method in 1984 while simply seeking to correct his accent. The encounter turned him around: he would devote three decades to the Mozart Center, which he founded in Walnut Creek. This book is the sum of that practice — six books that lead the reader from the anatomy of the ear all the way to the inner life, by way of learning, the listening test and the ear as psychologist.
The price, frankly
This book sells for £37 on Amazon. Here it costs €25 — nearly 40% less. We say so because it is true, and because it is the only advantage we have to offer: buying direct from the publisher means paying for the book and not for the marketplace.
Who it is for
English-speaking practitioners and students, therapists, teachers. This is the method’s foundational treatise; for a quicker first approach, see Listening that’s life! by Patrick Dumas de la Roque.
